My exp. is a little different than Mike's. My ferry took 6-8 hours. We bought our tix the day before while we were in La Paz, and probably could have gotten them the same day. We took the drunken truck driver version of the ferry (at the time there were two), which arrives in Topolobampo at sometime after dark, which is kind of heinous.

I know this doesn't help ...
