For those of you who haven't renewed your FM3 for this year there's a new wrinkle. After you've provided all of the necessities such as proof of residence from this year, income and passport there is a processing period. You will be given a date to pick up the renewed visa- approximately one month. They said you have to pick it up within one month of that date or you are in deep doodoo. You can get special permission to leave Mexico for a short time (for a fee of about 28us$)but you have to return. This can cause havoc with your travel plans. If anyone knows a way to work around this let us know.
