hola everyone -- holy cow ! seems like my initial post got a lot of people talking - I am close to be fully recovered--after 4 weeks --- a few thoughts -- we were all in the same place - came down with something not very nice that most doctors have difficulty diagnosing - symptoms are similar for most people but probably differ in some cases due to differences in personal immune systems, antibodies , level of fitness and general health etc -- similarities seem to be -- night sweats - extreme fatigue - loss of appetite --- some experienced intestinal issues - fevers- others lung complications --- I , like I'm sure most of you , love La Manzanilla for a lot of reasons and will return. It is a wonderful place full of wonderful people. It does not have many of the "touristy" things that plague many places in Mexico. However, I do hope that in time, and when finances become available for the village, that the septic and black water situations are remedied. My belief is that the dust created on the streeets becomes an issue for anyone with compromised immune systems. ( as a school principal I know I was a bit run down when I got there this year ) For anyone still trying to get their health back I found that, while it did take me several weeks to work through the worst symptoms, you can be proactive with your health. I firmly believe that the followig helped me : juicing raw vegetables including garlic and ginger -- drinking the small containers of yogurt based BioBest Immune boosters ( made by several companies ) ---drinking 2 oz of aloe vera juice daily --- using Isagenix products ( you can contact me about these if you like ) -- also I had a terrible reaction to trying my first cup of coffee after 3 weeks so have dropped the caffeine in favor of green tea -- geesh whats next ? anyway -- take care all
