Thanks for the input, John. Iīve certainly considered suspending the program until we find a new buyer, but thatīs the point of having gained a big enough place to store it--so that we donīt have to suspend the collection. This space is being provided by the Delegado, and I can almost assure you that no one is going to torch it.

Iīm not sure if you realize the entire context of this program, which was launched in June 2005, and has been responsible for recycling over 35 tons of plastic, all of which have been sold to various buyers throughout the past 3.5 years. We simply donīt have a buyer at the moment due to the economic crisis. But I donīt expect this to be a permanent situation.

Further, suspending the recycling program will cause it to lose momentum, which we are trying to gain at the moment, especially in light of the new environmental law that requires all municipalities in Jalisco to separate their garbage into organic, inorganic and sanitary items.

And sure we could just say, well let the municipality handle it--itīs their responsibility. Which it is, but history has shown what will happen if we choose that route--nothing. Even though we donīt currently have a buyer, we are gaining much traction on other aspects of the program--e.g., the authorization and donation of a space for an official recycling center at a critical moment in history. Those are my thoughts for not suspending the program at the moment.
