We have been through this veggie check a few times in the last few weeks and haven't been ask. Just for your info my wife and I carry a Government issued citizen green card in our wallets that is available for free(nice). We have been told by our lawyer that these will be excepted by officials as proof of residency,we were able to get these cards by showing our FM3 and passports. They are also allowed to be laminated. I'm not sure of all the places where they are available but we were issued ours at the Government office at the Soreana store in Manzanillo. Looking at the store it's at the left side entrance right beside the shopping carts. It took 5 mins to get them and the girls in there knew exactly what we wanted. We then walked 50 ft into the Soreana and had them laminated. Hope this helps.

PS we also carry photo copies of our FM3 and passports in our car,you cant be to careful.
