I agree with putting the linens in plastic bags or a tub with a dryer sheet. It works miracles. Another thing we did on our boat to keep mildew from forming when we closed it up for the summer months was to put an open container of bleach (the small one) standing up in a bucket (so it wouldn't spill) in the middle of the room we wanted to keep mildew free. We'd come back after the rainy season and it would be mildew/mold free. I'm thinking the technique might be good for bathrooms, closets, cupboards if you're closing up a house. I was also thinking we should start a loop just on the things people have done that have been successful in closing up their places for the summer months. I love local knowledge about this kind of stuff. Sylvia |
