OUR DOCTORA
Lulu ( Lourdes Perez Guzman ) decided that she would like to do her postgraduate studies in Canada.( she is finished with her local service by the end of January ) Of course Maggie and I were and are trying to help with information etc that would assist her to facilitate this but, unfortunately not much useful info was obtained. We find it very frustrating that there does not seem to be any place here or in Canada that is or was of much use. Even the Canadian consulate, lulu went there in person, had absolutely nothing to offer in terms of guidance, info etc. the embassy in DF, you cannot even get a live person on the phone and we do not know, if she actually traveled to DF, if she could see somebody to talk to …
With the little bit of info we did gather, it appears that the best way for her is to become a landed immigrant ( so she can work, she is not well off financially ) and work there for a year , also to learn more English and then she can write her medical exam and be a doctor and/or do her postgraduate work. There is a point system in place for becoming a landed immigrant, but to get enough points she needs to have a job in Canada BEFORE she applies !
So the question is, is there anyone who could help?…like offer a job or help her find one? Her preference is British Columbia, but…I guess she cannot be too fuzzy…

My e-mail is siegfriedschiffm@hotmail.com and the local (MX) phone is 315 351 7295, our US tel # 360 618 1783

Any help is appreciated
