Below are links to three photos I took of the new tsunami warning system just installed in the jardine. The first was taken the night they finally got it installed (it took hours) - you can still see some of the very patient on-lookers who stayed for the whole process. The second two were taken from a higher elevation. I can't say that it does much for the beauty of the plaza, but if it works (no test yet) it should save some lives in the event of a tsunami like the one that came through after the 1995 earthquake. It reminds me of a giant swizzle stick or one of those things you use to get honey out of a jar......
