Peter,
What is your ultimate destination? We drove from LaManzanilla all the way to Matahuala in one long day. You can pick up the cuota just outside of San Luis Potosi. It was about 9 or 9 1/2 hours from LaManzanilla to Matahuala. Then we made it to Georgetown Tx (north of Austin) the next day, crossing at Columbia.
