I called last week to Vonage to investigate the problem and make sure our Vonage service was not causing our problem on our line(it happened once before). There is a handy "speed test" on the Vonage home page for anyone who wants to check what's going on. One minute my upload speed is at 19kbs and the next it's at 277. Go figure.
I then called prodigy and they gave this recommendation- If you go to a package called "Nogocios" you get 1mbs with a guarrantee of an up load speed of over 300. The cost is $401.35ps. You then pay for your phone service separate at $180ps. That equals the cost of what I was paying with a slower upload speed.
I was told it could take 5 days for it to go into effect so I won't know the results until tomorrrow. I'll keep everyone posted if this makes a difference or it's just a way of increasing our monthly cost somehow.
