i also noticed this ugly thingy at the jardin and was wondering what it is and does ?! ok, now we know that it is or supposed to be a tsunami warning device. yes it has a speaker like thing on it, which most likely is a siren, it has a radio receiver etc, so it is meant to receive some signal from somewhere, depending what frequency it works on and where the signal(s) comes from, it may or may not work ! the sadest thing for me though is the fact that no-one in town was told anything about it and let us assume for a moment that it does work and the siren goes off, the majority of the people here will not have a glue what it means... PS haven't figured out yet what those whitish fibreglass bubbles/ things are at the top or what they do ? |
