What a day - the electricity was out for hours, |
then when it came back on, all phone service went out (including cell phones) - meaning we've been out of touch with the rest of the world since about 10 this morning! Very frustrating, especially the part about not knowing what was happening with the weather. Every is finally working again, but who knows for how long??
We've had a very calm day weather-wise; light rain,
cloudy but with clearing skies every once in awhile - so I had pretty much decided Andres was no
longer a threat (thought it might have come ashore south of us). WRONG! Just looked at the latest reports from NHC and it's still on track to blow by here tonight as a Category 1 hurricane. Hard to believe when you see how benign the current
weather is, but better safe than sorry. Going to keep the ice chest close by, button things up when we go to bed - if it's still calm - and keep checking the satellite. Life is strange, especially here at the end of the world!
