| The trash collectors, the Aseo Publico, are responsible for picking up the the recycling. They work under the direction of the Delegado. The program was started by the Tierralegre Foundation and turned over to the Delegado in May when recycling was mandated by law. If you have concerns about the program, please contact Gustavo at the Delegado's office at the Jardin. Dean and I, representing Tierralegre, requested to Aseo Publico that the bins be emptied and the buyer in Manzanillo be asked to pick up the collected materials. We were told this would be done on Friday (yesterday) or Monday. Many bins are full and the collection site on Av Lazaro Cardenas is a mess. In my opinion, the problem is that the Aseo Publico staff is not motivated to take on this task. |
