Just a follow up note...a friend of mine who has an active construction business in Barra told me yesterday that IMSS is being strict with everyone. She covers her employees with IMSS. One of her Mexican employees was employed after the birth of his son, born with hemaphilia (think I spelled that right). IMSS refuses to cover the son for this condition, since the guy got his insurance after the son was born. The shots to coagulate his blood cost over 10,000 pesos each time he is injured.
