Sounds like she did mix up the FM3 and FM2 thing. I have FM2 and from what they told me, and what is on their website I am able to be out of Mx for 18 months in 5 years. Doesn't seem to be a restriction
on how many months per year - just the total of 18 months in 5 years was the big thing. You never know though, things change often and it is up to US to find out the new regulations, not up to the to tell us anything. Guess we just have to keep checking every time we renew???
As far as I know and it has always been that way for my time with an FM3, there is no restriction on time because an FM3 is only a permission to be in the country for a year and you have to renew it every year. You can have a foreign plated car with an FM2, but if you become a citizen you cannot and have to legalize your car, or sell it and get a Mexican plated one. You need an FM2 for 5 years before you can apply to become a citizen - that's what I am going by, unless someone else has NEW AND IMPROVED INFO???
