Hi Deanna, I have found a way to check the wayback machine pages for active links. It's a bit of a challenge but it works. First you have to have the Firefox browser installed (which you should be using anyway, more secure). Once you have Firefox installed click this link http://www.real-estate-mexico.info/linkchecker.xpi here it should ask you if you want to save it to your computer....Do that. (note: you can find the original add on here. The program you are getting from me has already had the suggested change completed) Start the firefox browser....click... File...Open File. Find the xpi file you just downloaded from me...select it and then click open. That will install the LinkChecker 0.6.3 addon to Firefox. Restart Firefox....go to the wayback machine link and select an archive. Right click on the page, you will see an option "check page links" select it and wait a bit, all of the active links on the page will turn green. There seems to be no order to the way information was saved, some links are good, most are not. For instance on this page there are 309 links, only about 20 of them are good. It just so happens that the 5 of the good ones are weather related. (back when Julie was the weather person) D |
