I am not really sure what you mean about crossing and showing registration. My state (New Mexico) requires that proof of registration be kept in the car at all times. If you are crossing with the state registration paper in the car and the real owner is with you and has ID, there's no problem. At the border the US immigration camera scans your tag and checks it with the state MVD and you will be asked why you are driving a car that is not registered to you. They really don't need a document unless the real owner is unable to communicate that (he/she) owns the car. Don |
