Travel Warnings from US State Dept.

Posted by Donald Binkley on August 23, 2009, 9:14 am

Posted this Saturday in the "New Mexican' but really from the LA Times. Alert issued Thursday advises US citizens to avoid travel in the states of Chihuahua and Michoacan including Morelia and the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere. Also included is the state of Coahuila
south of highway 25 and the Alamos River. If you wish to search for more on this article, check the LA Times author is Christopher Reynolds.

Two U.S. citizens were abducted in Chihuahua in July and killed. I don't have much to add except that they didn't say if this happened in the state or in Ciudad Chihuahua (pop. 500,000). It is about a long day's drive from Santa Fe.
