August statistics

Here are the numbers for August:

Avg. high temp: 88.5F/31.2C - low: 82.4F/28C

Average humidity: high: 76.4% - low: 63.5%

Total rainfall: 3.57 inches - the lowest August rainfall since we've been keeping track. Here are some comparisons from 2004:

2004: 4.72"
2005: 13.16" (unusual, since the total in 2005 was only 25.40")
2006: 7.74"
2007: 8.99"
2008: 7.75"

All in all, a very hot, humid month with not enough
rainfall. Let's hope September is different - yesterday's .48/inch was a good start.
