Based on the info on this site, YTD only 12 inches of rain. The driest annual amount to date in 14 years?

Hopefully, the next 2 months will be wet.

I have been looking at rain catchment systems on the internet and plan to set one up at my house in the spring.

If we get only 20 inches a year I could theoretically catch 40,000 gallons of rain water. But, the tank(s) or cistern would have to be large to catch this much. So I will determine the size once I get into the project.

Once before on this site we talked about micro reservoirs in the mountains for the village. Maybe it is time for the ejido to check out the top of the mountain behind the village for suitable sites.
