It was like seven in the morning, when my mother wake me up and told me to go to the kitchen, it was a very stormy day when I look out side on the street and I saw las palmas bending really bad and almendros. The wind got stronger and the rain got worse, suddenly the walls of my Little brother and I room fall on my bed,the whole house was falling apart,I was terrified, because I was always waiting for something bad to happen since we are a sinners according to the Catholic church. The treat of ender up in hell and for me that was it.
Then our parents took all of us to a refuge in some bungalows by the Hacienda cerro, where the wind was not hitting directly, running on the rain and wrestling the extreme wind, comunicating in sign language because is impossible to hear each othe, everybody is panicking and the world is coming to an end, the electric lines where flaying, sparks like el quince de agosto every where, blending with the green torn off tree branches, flying unpredictable and out of control.
By noon gigantic palms trees where flying around and the bungalows where with no windows or doors, I was able to see all Kain of debris passing by like when you are traveling in a car at high speed.
Next day it was all devastation and destruction, fortunately no body was seriously hurt.
My morn used to say that it happen every twenty some years.
It took several weeks for the normality to return.
That was my first cyclone, nothing to compare to my first earthquake.
