Kinda responding to my own post here.......
boredom is very productive given the right paramaters and definition of productive.

One of the responses on the Chapala board Jorge Avelar says....

"Funny data about the Independence of Mexico: The original independence day
was September 16, 2 p.m. Was officially celebrated in 1886 for the first time.
President of Mexico Porfirio Diaz changed that date and time to the 15th
of September at 11.00 p.m. because of his birth date and this celebration
prevails since then."

-----------

I am waiting for the verification email to join that board so I can ask Jorge for his sources.

Some of the links in my above post agree with the time table of September 16th ..........

The reason I posted was to invite anyone who cares to participate
to respond to the following questions........

#1 Besides learning on the 15th "that the Queretaro conspiracy had been
discovered by the Spanish authorities"
why was it Father Hildalgo
(the person) who started the revolution?

#2 (easier) Link to the source of the actual words Father Hidalgo spoke.

(the closer a link is to an original source the better the answer)
