NHC only updates systems after they've been named and, if they aren't threatening landfall, about every 4 hours. I rely mainly on this report: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATWDEP+shtml/191514.shtml? - which is very detailed and updated three times during the day. Most "local" weather predictions come out of Manzanillo and have very little relevance to what's happening in La Manzanilla. However, by monitoring EPAC satellite shots and reading the daily 9 AM CNA bulletin (in espanol and almost never available until about 9:20) you can deduce what MIGHT be going to happen here on any given day. However, it's mostly guesswork until a major storm blows up and NHC starts analyzing possible impact to this coastline. Almost makes me wish we had more storms. The Cuyutlan radar on CNA is also very helpful when available (it's been down for at least a week now). |
