Hi All,

We have been receiving a lot of questions about the kindergarten, so I will try to answer them:

The school we are working to help is La Manzanilla's only kindergarten, and it is a public school. It has a staff of six people, including the director, three teachers, a secretary, and a janitor.

There are 74 students in attendance, housed in three classrooms. There is also a palapa covered outdoor area, where the children are served their breakfasts. This area is quite rundown, and is in need of repair. The school estimates that it will cost them about $18,000 pesos to redo, which will include the labor and materials.

So far we have had some wonderful pledges!

Larry S. has volunteered to landscape the garden of the school. The kids are in need of shade, and with some new trees, hopefully they will get that shade in a couple of years. This project will be starting very soon.

Judy R. will be donating a toaster oven, which will be so useful for the kids' breakfasts each morning.

Doug and Diane M. will be donating 50 coloring books and 50 boxes of crayons!

Jack K. and his wife will be donating a digital camera!

Kimberely has purchased huge bins of plastic farm and wild animals, in addition to plastic fruits and veggies.

Donna, a teacher in California, is interested in helping with teaching materials.
