Well, I've been driving in Jalisco for 10 years and you missed some.

Driving in Guadalajara: If you ever drove through Guad with US plates, especially during Breakfast, lunch or dinner hours, you can expect the "transitos" to stop you for minor infractions, such as not washing your car or not stopping at a light that is going up next year or not wearing your seatbelt even if you are. The fines usually run 1000 pesos, but they will take less if you can turn your pockets inside out a say "yo pobre, Obama tiene mi denero".

I always hide my money and change at the first gas station as you enter Guad. You should always have at least 40 pesos on your person to show them that they are getting the last money you have, including a hand full of change.

Once you have payed them, when you are stopped again, be mad and tell the to see their partner and you don't have any money left after paying him.

Basically, the rules are simple, hide your money, pay them something.

Other infractions:

Driving on a tuesday or any day you are there!
Chewing gum!
Not respecting and national holiday like "El Dia de Dias de Dias"
