Use a thick coat of #45 non-greasy sunblock just before entering water, wear shaded sunglasses. You need to allow your skin to acclimate to the hot sun here and yes you will not be able to go on such extended swims for a while. also great for skin damage and to prevent it take vitamin C on regular basis, vitamin E 800 milligrams, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and fish with high quantities of fish oil. Use Aloe Vera on your face for a hour or two during the day and rinse if off before you go out in the sun.
The following is the number for the PLAZA pharmacy in Melaque, whatever medicine is not available at the time you need it, they can get it for you. 315-355-5167 I would like to go on extended swims after you have recovered from your burns, I swim the entire Barra de Navidad Bay, beginning at the very West end of Melaque almost to the end of Barra. Make sure you take something for jelly-fish stings as they can be quite poisonous, but even better don`t go for long swims when they are around.
