I wonder how I would respond if someone were to come to my house and want to take my dog to a vet..... despite my telling them she's OK.

I may resent them not respecting my opinion....or I may say "do whatever you want",
probably dependent on my mood.

Perhaps this may (or may not) have something to do with cultural differences
(love the section titled Quantity of Time ..... "In other cultures, time is more plentiful, if not infinite" )

I'm sure you'll do the right thing, just keep listening to that little Mexican voice instead of the gringo one.
