There is a site where you can see maps and analyses of what the jet stream is doing at any particular moment, but I've never been able to predict anything from that info - here's the site if you want to try:

I rely mostly on the Eastern Pacific weather discussion from NOAA/ plus CNA. The reason we're
all freezing (and complaining a lot) this week is
that humidity levels are way down from what we
experienced all summer and into the winter this
year. Last night's low humidity was 40% and the high/low temperatures yesterday were 81F/27.2C - 68.3F/29.4. When you compare that to temps in the mid-80's and humidity in the 75 to 80% range, its a huge change for La Manzanilla weather wimps. That plume of moisture streaming in off the Pacific last week is now south of us and as long as it stays there we should have cool mornings and evenings, and hot sunny days. It's enirely possible that winter hath arriveth.
