Whale Songs

I just took my daily swim out to the Rocks. Had swum 3/4 of the way before I stopped to rest/float. That's when I heard the whales singing again. Had forgotten to listen on my way out. I'd swum out there yesterday and hadn't heard them. This time, it wasn't quite the symphony of 2 days ago and not as loud. I wondered if there were fewer or maybe they're resting. I slowed up and swam the rest of the way to the rocks on my back w/ my ears under the water to gauge the loudness, thus the distance. When I got to the rocks, I decided to swim the full way back on my back, listening, so I could tell you how far out you'd have to swim to be able to hear them this afternoon.

I was able to hear them all the way to where I could stand up at the shore. You just need to float without movement, putting your ears under the water. You will hear them. It's not as loud as a couple days before, but you can hear them. It's sheer delight. Watch for them to lurch later today. This was the pattern 2 days ago. See me or email for more info or help w/ going and listening. I can post a daily info on this, if there's interest. anne aaadams14@yahoo.com
