Mexican customs will hang up and return any item that is prohibited. That includes plants. Books seem to get through if they are marked books and are not insured. Some items have to be cleared in Mexico City by customs -- the biggest problem there is medicine. One solution is to open a PO Box in Manzanillo with three or four friends. You get a Texas address and the guy does a run every week or so. If you want more info, you can call me. Just as an aside, the customs' problems don't go away if you use one of the express services for medicine, even if you have the pkg marked in Spanish or include the prescription -- at least that has been my experience with DHL. |
