The politics of Dengue

We've just gotten word that another friend of ours who visited La Manz in the past two weeks has gotten dengue.

Isn't dengue preventable through spraying for mosquitoes? And it doesn't seem like they aren't spraying in La Manzanilla. What's up with that?

Does anyone know the politics or the economics of this? Is there a way to put pressure on the appropriate authorities to begin spraying?

We were visiting our son in Puerto Vallarta and a spray truck is going thru every other day to spray for mosquitoes. I haven't seen or heard a truck go thru La Manz for a while.

Anyone have some real information about this? Those of us who haven't had dengue don't want it, but from an economic standpoint, the high incidence of dengue here could really hurt tourism this year.
