Water bills are due in January, and rates have gone up slightly. New rates are: Large house with pool & yard/garden -- 1500 pesos (8% increase). Medium house with yard/garden -- 840 pesos (7% increase). Small house with no pool or yard -- 600 pesos (no increase). According to Morgan, our recent rains have had no positive impact on the aquifer. We're still pretty much in the same dire straits waterwise as we were when I posted the first notice back in October. Plus, the cost of electricity to run the pumps has increased, and the pumps are still struggling to pull up the water. Morgan asks everyone to PLEASE pay your water bill ASAP, if you have not already done so. You can call him at 351-5181 to verify how much you owe, and pay your bill at his home at Calle Tamarindo #84 (Guadalupe's Bicicletas). Not sure how I became Morgan's mouthpiece, but it is what it is, so ... KEEP LA MANZANILLA WET AND WILD! PLEASE PAY YOUR WATER BILL. Gracias! |
