One can still pay CFE and Telmex at Banamex in Melaque with no fee charged. We have Banamex pay our CFE bill for us. We also signed up for them to pay our Telmex bills, but after signing up 5 times, being forced to give them new copies of our passports every time (as if we had never visited before and as if we didn't have an account with the bank) after 10 months they still don't pay our Telmex bill. After signing up for CFE four times, and having our electricity turned off one time for nonpayment, they finally started paying CFE. The sincere but blank looks on the faces of the Banamex representatives as they stare at their computer screens without taking any action for several minutes at a time is a source of great frustration. The fact that after applying for bill payment five times for Telmex and still not getting the service is...Mexico lindo y querido. The ultimate irony is that we go to Banamex and pay the bill to the teller since the bank doesn't know how to do it automatically. In New York, it's not called S_itty Bank for nothing.
