Well, I,ve been out fishing quite a few times in the last few weeks, and it can best described as spotty to poor. Water temperature has been swinging from 78 to 82, with better top water action coming when the temp hits 83- 84. The water for the most part has had great clarity, and I'm optimistic of a current surprising us with a fresh delivery of fish. Iknow of several reports of occasional WAHOO being taken, which would make anyone's day. Caught at Ampolla, Tamarindo, Black Rock, ________use purple and black lures. The fishing on the outside at least represents the possibility of larger Dorados and billfish, and if the birds are working a chance at tuna on the " spot-and-chase" fast troll.I'm fishing this week with Rusty, we haven't had great luck, but always great laughs. The week of Feb.8 I've chartered a panga for three days, and intend to give her hell. I'll give you a fish report, going to the outside might help. A hint: when top water action seems slow, switch to Rapalas and Yo-zuris and troll at 4 to 5 mph for alot of action, particularly chulas, pargo, and that seldom WAHOO. Good Luck and keepyour rod tip up( you know what I mean} Jesse Connor |
