Sorry Mike, I checked both the USGS earthquake site (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_big.php) and the Mexican earthquake site (http://www.ssn.unam.mx/), and they say there was no 6.9 anywhere in the world yesterday. There was a 6.2 in Papua New Guinea (south Pacific). Was that the one you heard about? That was the only one in the world stronger than 6.0 for the last week. There were none greater than about 3.0 anywhere in the Sea of Cortez for the last week. We probably would have felt this one had it happened, and maybe even would have heard a tsunami warning, so I'm glad it didn't! Bret
