More problems with plastics, in New Mexico the huge Waste Management Corp. does a good job on the recycle project. Plastics all have a small triangle on the bottom of the bottle or container and if it is number of 3 or higher, it won't be accepted. Plastics with these higher numbers contain very toxic chemicals, toxic even as gases during the recycle process. So if you don't aid in the process and just toss all plastic into the recycle bin, the buyers won't take the stuff. I believe that Canada has even prohibited the use of #5 and #7 as food containers. This might just be one of the problems in Mexico for the recycle process. Bink |
