According to an earlier warning from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, their estimated arrival time for the tsunami to reach Manzanillo is 1709Z, or 11:09AM local time today. Then maybe a few more minutes to get up here to Tenacatita Bay. Some of the other pages I checked had computer model predictions of around 10cm for the wave height along our coast. Probably not noticable, but it never hurts to be conservative and stay away from the water for an hour or two starting around 11AM. You never know how the wave might build up in our bay because of the sea floor profile. Here's the original warning (there are several more recent supplemental announcements also): http://www.prh.noaa.gov/pr/ptwc/messages/pacific/2010/pacific.2010.02.27.104329.txt |
