Update on Daniel Ramirez and Socorro

The past month has proven successful in terms of ensuring that Daniel is able to move forward with the recommendations of Dr. Max Greig, Orthopedic Surgeon in Puerto Vallarta. Dr. Greig has offered to work with Daniel for six months in order to help heal the dangerous ulcer on his buttock and to intiate the 6 months of rehabilitation that promises to aid Daniel in becoming ´mobile and independent´. After 4 years of being wheelchair-bound Daniel is excited to begin the hard work that lies ahead of him. We have found an apartment in Vallarta and Daniel and his mother will be moving in one week to begin therapy. To the kind and supportive people of La Manzanilla who have made pledges , we need to move forward now and ensure that the funds are in place. The owner of the apartment in PV has reduced the rent to 3000 pesos/month in support of this family, The medical supplies will be another 2000 pesos. Daniel will require internet in order to complete his studies in Prepatoria and graduate this year. His cousin Enrique Figueroa in Vallarta has arranged for a reduced rate for taxis - Daniel will need to use taxi to travel each day to and from the rehabilitation clinic.
