| You can still take the Columbia Bridge crossing without a TXTAG. Instead of the toll road NNE, take the toll-free road ESE about 15 or so miles to 45. Then take that north. I've posted a request for confirmation of this on chapala.com since we haven't crossed the border for over two years, but it doesn't make sense any other way. The toll-free road starts well before the toll road and there's no way they are going to cut off traffic to that whole area. But this should be confirmed instead of ass-u-me'd. It might take you an extra 40 minutes, but avoiding Nuevo Laredo could be worth a LOT more than that. We're on the road tomorrow, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear confirmation and have internet access. Buena suerte! |
