As a first-time experience, Semana Santa can be quite fun and exciting if you're in the right frame of mind. It's a very lively time in town and a great way to observe Mexican families enjoying their holiday at the beach. I was fascinated by my first Semana Santa in La Manzanilla. Like anything new, however, the celebration loses its luster through repetition. This will be a bigger slice of real Mexico than you might otherwise be exposed to on vacation here. Enjoy!
