I am another of the neighbors who watched this project grow, and it inspired me to sow some vegetable seeds in my own garden. It is so exciting to think you can grow your own food here all year long (I'm from Vancouver, where that is not so easy to do) I, too, thank June, Rick, Ted, Ann, John and Cathie and all the others who made this vision a reality. Be sure to click on the PROGRESS tab so you can see all the photos. Rick and June said there are still plots that will be available through the summer, and that at least half of the participants are local Mexican people, so let's spread the word. Maria, who lives across the street from the garden, is apparently a very good resource re bugs, companion planting, etc. I'm sure she can help me find some of the edible "weeds" that want to grow here anyway, so I can encourage them. (best way to improve my Spanish, too) What a great multicultural project!
