We are on our second set of plants here on the beach - no luck with papayas here.

We have lots of good soil and ammendments, and we are growing them behind the house, but it sure seems like they don't like it closer to the water.

They grow very slowly, then when they're a couple feet high, they die... too bad, we love the plants, they are so beautiful!

Sunflowers, however, grow beautifully. We brought seeds from Canada, and they grew over 8 feet high, even in the windy areas....
