There should be receipts of interim IMSS payments, and a certificate of final payment.
In John and Cathie's situation it is too soon to have the final cert,
it takes a while to get.

These are receipts which may or may not be important.
If IMSS shows up within 5 years of the time you got your building permit,
and your builder did not pay IMSS.... then you will pay it....with penalties.

Moral of the story....get those receipts and final cert.
Or don't...if your the type of person who feels its all going to be ok,
and so far in your life that has worked for you, then why change now?

Edit: IMSS is social security for those who worked on the job.
If Mexico does not follow the US in spending those funds
they will be a benefit for the workers one day.

Edit II: Arturo, just because someone say's they pay the IMSS payments on
their website does not mean all is well. Receipts speak volumes.
The number of workers...with names. I'm not saying this happened but
it is easy to change what is reported.
I will be the first to say I don't know all I should on this subject,
any corrections welcome.
