I was going to bow out of this thread after your last rebuttal Daniel. But now I see that you wrote yours at 12:27 a.m. and I wrote my first at 9:28 a.m., my mind fogged by lack of sleep. Not fair! I see how maybe I missed my own point. I agree that some mindless idiot likely dreamed up a money scam to tag infractions previously overlooked. And that is unfair and unjust. The fact that they had the big flatbed ready to haul them away suggests that the actions were premeditated. There are good laws and bad laws, and other laws that could be debated endlessly. Motorcycle helmet laws, for example. Riding without one hurts nobody but yourself, and one can easily argue that law makers and beauracrats are running amuck over personal freedoms. Driving without a license? I could argue that one. Two days ago I saw an ATV with 3 young pre-teens that blasted at high speed through an intersection. Could have killed themselves and others. The law requiring a license rationalizes that drivers need to be old enough to have responsibility, and implies that the driver has demonstrated training and skill (yeah, right). If the biker in your picture was blasting through the streets when caught, I say take the machine away ... he is acting irresponsibly and threatening the lives of others. If that was not the case, then he should have been warned for lack of license, etc. Such actions by police bring disrespect for all laws and those who make them. I know how that feels - I got nabbed last year for passing a slow moving vehicle on a double line. Yeah, it's a law, but.......??
