Found out the same thing by accident. We were feeding an iguauna pieces of papaya with seeds and came back the next year to find a tall tree in that spot.
Someone mentioned there is a strawberry papaya strain that is very good to eat, but we have not found the seeds yet. We will be planting more for sure. Nothing like granola with fresh papaya and the great local yogurt in the morning.
