From the way you word the post, you don't have Mexican plates. So you can't legally sell the car in Mexico. If you ignore this and something happens in the future with the car that you think you have sold, you will be liable. Your car is in the computer system as YOURS until you cross the border and give up the windshield sticker. If a crime is committed by someone in the car that you think you sold, you will be arrested. If there is an accident, you will be held liable. This is a no brainer. Don't be a fool.
