I was extremely saddened to hear about Peter's passing today. I knew Peter from Berkshire where he was one of my closest friends, in fact I used to call him brother. We had many great adventures together exploring Mt. Everett and Black Rock at school. One time in particular I remember Peter talking me into going on a hike that was not supposed to be done in the winter without ice climbing gear (on the telephone trail) but to Pete this was just a challenge that needed to be met. So yes, I followed him up an ice covered, near vertical trail, in a foot of snow to the top of the mountain. It only took 7 hours but that's what made it great. Pete, taught me that life is an adventure; push the boundaries and preconceived ideas and explore the world around you. Thanks Pete. I wish his friends and family peace at this tough time. Rest easy my brother. Capps |
