Ocean Kayak welding

My Ocean Kayak has a couple cracks that need repaired. The manufacturer recommends welding them closed using their plastic welding rods and a heavy-duty hot air gun. Does anyone have either of these two items here in La Manzanilla that I could beg/borrow/rent? Also, any tips beyond the welding repair page on the manufacturer's website would be appreciated.

Thanks, my poor kayak has been too long out of the water!
