The Canadian Embassy in Mexico has updated their Travel Report and Warning website to reflect the April 22 car jacking 4km north of Mazatlan (on the cuota at 9:00am) as per the following: In the state of Tamaulipas, on Highways 85 and 101 near Ciudad Victoria and on highways to Matamoros, Reynosa and Nuevo Laredo, as well as in the state of Sinaloa, travellers have been attacked and robbed by heavily armed gangs. Travellers may wish to consider alternative routings and should monitor local news before travelling to areas affected by turf wars." |
