Thanks to everyone who replied both here on this thread and to myself or Leslie directly. Given the specifics provided, it seems like the best alternative based on the travel itinerary, would be to purchase Pesos in the USA from a bank. One day, and this is just my opinion, somebody will benefit financially, while offering a valid service to the community and those visiting La Manzanilla, by providing local money changing capability. Then there will be no need to leave town, to change or access money, a portion of those funds, ending in the economy wherever one chooses to get their dough. In the short time that I have been a resident of this humble town by the Sea, the reasons I've heard as to why this has not yet manifested, don't seem logical, but more like construed myths. La Manzanilla is not a rough place with bands of roaming criminals. Quite the opposite in so many ways. Very tranquil and leaning towards laid back for all except those who either need to or choose to exert themselves for whatever reason. Eventually this service will come to town, probably by an established financial organization. Wouldn't it be better to have it be a local endeavor that would benefit La Mananilla from within? Just a thought. In the meantime, it is what it is, and there is nothing that I can do, but accept what is, regardless of if I like it or not. Time to go and walk the beach under the moonlight, into the dawn. How sweet it is...
